The restoration of the Ospedale Vecchio (The Old Hospital)

The largest art installation of Parma 2020, in the iconic Ospedale Vecchio (The Old Hospital), rediscovers and tells the story of this place and the role it has played in its neighbourhood and the entire city.

his exhibition-installation is a kind of preview, using new technologies to manage dynamic and personalised content regarding all Parma’s written and photographic archives to tell the story of the hospital founded from the waters of the city to welcome the sick, the poor, orphans, families in difficulty and pilgrims who passed through on the Via Emilia and the Via Francigena.

The restoration of the Crociera dell'Ospedale Vecchio was promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region through the European Regional Development Fund and Suburban Plan ministerial fund.

The exhibition can be visited in groups (max 20 people, every 45 minutes).

Admission with compulsory booking is: from Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm with the last admission at 7.00 pm, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the last admission at 10 p.m.
